Threshold, a national housing charity, have told a Dail committee that the exploitative practice of landlords demanding sex in-lieu of rent needs to be addressed “urgently” and that recent reporting on the matter may “only be the tip of the iceberg”.
A report in today’s Irish Examiner details how, based off recent research conducted in England during the pandemic, that potentially 3,872 rental households in Ireland may be affected by the issue of sex-for-rent.
